18th and Vine Arts Festival Food Truck Application
Event Information
The 18th & Vine Arts Festival is committed to celebrating Black art and culture by providing a platform for established and emerging Black artists to showcase their work, network with fellow creatives, and honor the powerful impact Black art has on the world. We are dedicated to highlighting the work of Black artists to cultivate an unforgettable 3-day experience at Kansas City’s historic 18th and Vine District, where audiences from around the globe can engage in and explore various forms of art across the disciplines of music, dance, visual and literary arts, fashion, digital media, and film.
FESTIVAL HOURS
Friday, September 26, 2025: 5 PM - 10 PM
Saturday, September 27, 2025: 10 AM - 10 PM
Sunday, September 28, 2025: 10 AM - 5 PM (Culinary Art Day Food Truck Competition Prize)
We will select ten (10) food truck vendors for the 18th & Vine Arts Festival. Information and further details will be provided in the confirmation email once selected. There is no application fee for food truck applicants.
Food Truck Participation Fees
We are offering the following participation fees for food trucks:
$125 for Friday (Sept 26)
$225 for Saturday (Sept 27)
$125 for Sunday (Sept 28)
Special Discount: Participate for the entire weekend for just $400 (saves $75)
Flexible Payment: You can break down the payment as long as it is paid in full before the festival on August 1, 2025.

Food Truck Information
BEVERAGE RULES:
All food trucks may sell non-alcoholic beverages. All drinks and pricing must be included on the menu submitted with the application.
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE:
Vendors must provide a certificate of liability insurance for $1,000,000.
ELECTRICITY:
Electric needs must not exceed 110 volts/15 amps.
YOU MUST REQUEST ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL ACCESS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION to receive it.
Food trucks are permitted to use quiet generators.
Food trucks and food vendors will pay for additional electricity if needed.
Vendors must tape all electrical cords down and maintain their secure taping during the festival.
Vendors must supply electrical cords with covers if stretched across a walkway.
FIRE EXTINGUISHERS:
Food trucks deep frying must have current K-Type fire extinguishers with service tags.
Trucks not frying must have at least one 2A:20BC and one K-rated fire extinguisher.
A maximum of two LP gas containers with a total aggregate water capacity of 25 gallons is permitted on a single food truck.
HEALTH PERMIT:
All food trucks must apply and be approved for a Temporary Food Service Establishment Permit.
The permit must be obtained before set up at the festival.
All Food Trucks MUST DISPLAY a FOOD HANDLER’S CERTIFICATION.
A copy of this certification must be provided to the 18th & Vine Arts Festival Logistics Director before setup.
MENU:
Food trucks may only sell menu items submitted in their approved application.
Additional menu items require prior written approval.
Menu prices must remain as approved unless changes are requested and approved in writing.
PHOTOGRAPHY & PROMOTION:
Vendors agree to allow video and photography taken by 18th & Vine Arts Festival organizers to be used for promotional purposes.
Any photos taken by the event are the property of the 18th & Vine Arts Festival.
PROPANE TANKS:
All vendors using propane tanks must bring proper equipment to secure them safely.
SAFETY & SECURITY:
Vendors sell and serve food at their own risk.
Vendors must obey all safety codes and laws, including fire, safety, and parking regulations.
The 18th & Vine Arts Festival reserves the right to shut down any vendor not meeting cleanliness and food storage safety codes.
SPACE:
Vendors must abide by festival staff requirements regarding assigned locations.
Food trucks must provide all necessary equipment for operations and sales.
A-frame signs cannot extend more than 3 feet from the truck’s façade.
Food vendors who fry must operate from a food truck only.
WASTE:
No grease or gray water disposal is available.
No water is provided by the festival.
Vendors must remove all debris and maintain a clean area.
WEATHER POLICY:
The 18th & Vine Arts Festival will take place rain or shine.
Vendors must be present regardless of weather conditions.
Vendors are responsible for preparing their setup to withstand wind and rain.
INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR AGREEMENT:
Vendors operate as independent contractors.
Vendors are not employees of the 18th & Vine Arts Festival.
Vendors assume full responsibility for all applicable taxes and payroll obligations.
